"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes,
and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be
any more pain." Revelations: 21:4
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
--From a headstone in Ireland
Mother was born in French Valley, Russell County, Kentucky, to William Perryman Grider and his wife, Della Mae Phelps Grider, the 7th of 12 siblings.
Mother's brothers and sisters were; Frank Ewing Grider, Herman Lester Grider, Wallace Grider, Monte Russell Grider, Hollis Grider, and Raymond Grider.
The girls were Nellie Dunbar, Fannie McKinley, Annie Coffey, Nannie Campbell, and a sister who died, at 2 years old, Nona "Nonie" Grider. They have all passed from this life.
Mollie was a wife, mother, and homemaker. When my father died, she was fortunate to find employment at Delco Remy, a division of General Motors. She was a very dedicated employee, never missing a day of work.
She was able to provide a good living for my brother and me. Until the last couple of years, Mother was making her garden as she always did. She enjoyed playing board games with her friends and she loved to go out to eat at her favorite restaurants.
Mother was Grandmother "Granny" to Sarah Mowell Everett, James Anthony "Tony" Mowell Everett, and Angela Mowell Thompson and her Grand-son-in-law, Stephen Brett Thompson.
Great-Grandmother to, Mackenzie, and Megan Everett. Also to Schuyler Brett, Sterling Beck, Sonny Elias, Shiloh Eden, and the little boy who didn't live, Silas Gabriel. The boys are all Thompsons.
Mother died just 5 months before turning 90. Even at her advanced age, I was not ready to part with her, I never would have been.
Mother is in Heaven now. She and Daddy will be waiting for me in Heaven. I won't disappoint them.
