DawnLynn (Pumpkin) passed away suddenly on Friday, March 30, 2007, at the age of 31 years. She is survived by her loving parents, George Semeniuk of Calgary, Martha Semeniuk and companion Dale Williamson of Calgary; her brother Randy Semeniuk and very special niece Brooke Semeniuk of Sherwood Park, AB; her sister Susan Neveu of Edmonton, AB; her brother Tyson Pappas of British Columbia; as well as her grandmother Mary Wilmar of Edmonton and grandfather Bill Semeniuk of St. Paul, AB; special godparents Ann and Benny Urbanovitch, and Rick and Linda Cebuliak of Edmonton, AB; her very closest friends, Morgan Millar-Leonard, Adrian Culler and Mark Overland; extended brothers and sisters, Cindy Abbott, Andrew Beaver, Jeremy Campeau, Alannah and Geanine Seaton, T.J., Shyanne and Ty Chartrand; and numerous extended family and friends of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union of Alberta. DawnLynn was predeceased by her husband Roland Self on April 12, 2006.

DawnLynn was born on January 11, 1976 in Edmonton, AB, and shortly after moved to Calgary, Alberta. She attended St. Mark's Elementary, St. Martha's Middle School and was a graduate of Father Lacombe High School. She attended Mount Royal College and attained a certificate in homeopathic medicine. She excelled in many areas such as cheerleading, band, baseball and her many accomplishments were achieved because of her strong will. The one musical instrument she chose to play was the tuba, simply because it was bigger than she and no one else wanted to play the tuba. DawnLynn was runner-up in the Miss Teen Calgary Pageant in 1991. Her smile and laughter were infectious, as was her kind and caring manner. Her dress and style was one of a kind, and only she could get away with her unique attire. On a recent trip to L.A. while out strolling Rodeo Drive, people complemented her creative ensemble. DawnLynn had a great love for animals and leaves behind her precious cats, China, Cheese, Deadalous. She was employed as a manager with Japan Camera and the Magic Room in Calgary.

In 2005 she embarked on a new professional trade as a Scaffolder with the Carpenters Union and headed to Grande Prairie, Dow Chemical, Petro Canada in Edmonton and Suncor in Ft. McMurray. Her thrill for height and excitement led her on a journey of bungee jumping and zip lining as well as conquering the luge at Canada Olympic Park in February of 2007 at whirlwind speeds.

From obituary published in the Calgary Herald on 4/4/2007.
