Louis Neil Gibson was born in Robinson, Kansas, the son of Jesse Lois and Louis Gibson. He grew up in White Cloud, Kansas before moving to Wichita in 1942.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 23, 1954, he was united in marriage to Wilma Partington, raising his family and spending most of his years in the Southwest Missouri area.
He resided in the Wheatland, Missouri, area for the past 10 years. His principal occupation was law enforcement, serving in the Los Angeles Police Department, the Wichita Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons for a combined 13 years.
Louis is survived by his loving wife Wilma, of Wheatland; sons Kurt Gibson and wife Angie, of Springfield, Randall Gibson and wife Dawn, of Springfield; and sister, Wilma Newlin, of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
He was a devoted member of the Antioch Christian Church of Pittsburg, Missouri. A loving husband, and proud father, he will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 9 in Antioch Christian Church, officiated by Pastor Don Hart.
