My Uncle Clarence was a very tall, thin man which, of course, resulted in the nickname of "Slim" from his fellow employees at OG&E(Oklahoma Gas and Electric).
He and Emma had two children, Bonnie and Betty. He was a very good-natured man.
He had a stroke which completely changed his personality. Although his good nature was not completely gone, he did get a temper. Sometimes, it was very difficult for Emma to deal with as he would also become physically threatening. However, she definitely knew how to deal with it and it never actually became physical.
She cared for him as long as she was able and then, together, they decided he would go to a nursing center. He seemed to be completely amenable to the decision.
The first night he was at the nursing center, he passed away quietly in his sleep.
