Beverly Marcine Sweeney
(October 31, 1942 - January 24, 2010)
Beverly Marcine Sweeney died Sunday, January 24, 2010, age 67, at the home.
She was the daughter of James Haley and Emma Ellen (Wright) Johnson, born October 31, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, third of three daughters.
Beverly was reared in Winfield, KS from age one until her marriage.
December 23, 1958 she married Laurence Michael Jones. To this union four children were born; Marcine Renee; Teresa Kay; Christine Lynn and Steven Michael.
Because her husband was in the Marine Corps she lived in Oceanside, CA, Norfork, VA, Hawaii and Peculiar, MO where they settled and raised their children.
August 30, 1980 she married John (Jack) Lawrence Sweeney III he preceded her in death May 3, 2002.
Also preceding her were her parents and one sister Carol Louise Topper and one niece Cathleen Louise Watson.
Jack and Beverly lived for five years in Baytown, TX before settling in Eagle Rock, MO. Jack's children Sheri Marie and Michael Ray became her children too.
She is survived by her sister & brother-in-law Jimalene & Jerald Cales of Winfield, KS; brother-in-law, Skip Atwood of Glasgow, KY; sister-in-law Patricia Nelson of Whitney, TX; Beverly's children Marcine & Dennis Carey of Raytown, MO; Sheri Springer of Joplin, MO; Teresa Kooken & Cullen of Cassville, MO; Michael & Lori Sweeney of Ozark, MO; Christine & Sal Anguzza of Vista, CA; Steven Jones & Becky of Eagle Rock, MO; sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 31, 2010, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
Burial will be with her beloved Jack at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
