Robert "Bob" C. Armstrong, 77, of Ennis, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Madison Valley Hospital in Ennis. He was born April 27, 1923, in Norris, to Frank and Zora (McKee) Armstrong.
He moved to Ennis in 1937 from Kansas and graduated from high school in 1942. Bob drove freight truck from Norris to Ennis and drove cattle trucks for Harold Helt before entering the service. After the service he was employed for 31 years at the Ennis National Fish Hatchery. He was also groundskeeper at Morgan's El Western Motel for many years.
He was best known in the Ennis and Jeffers area for his grins, waves and honks.
He married Jean Baker Armstrong on May 24, 1943, in Livingston.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Armstrong of Ennis; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gerry Moss of Prior Lake, Minn.; two sons, Zane Armstrong of Malta, and Frank Armstrong and companion, Earl Case Jr. of Portland, Ore.; brothers, Jim Armstrong of Seattle, and Dan Armstrong of Davenport, Wash.; and sister, Kate Robinson of Ennis.
