John was self-employed as a barber for 45 years. He died at 8:43 a.m., 6 AUG 1965, at his residence, 332 W. North St., Butler, Butler, PA. Cause of death: Myocardial failure. Age at death: 59 years.

John L. Convery, 59, of 332 W. North St., well-known barber and lodge man, died yesterday morning at his home, following a lingering illness. Born in Butler, he was a son of the late Lawrence J. and Adeline Kelly Convery. He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church; the Third Order of St. Francis; the Holy Name Society; and the Moose Lodge of Butler. He was Past Governor and Past North Moose of Western Pennsylvania Legion No. 1, Legion of the Moose, and was honored with the Pilgrim degree in 1958. He has been a member of the Butler ritual staff of the Moose for over 20 years. Mr. Convery was the owner of a barber shop at his residence, and has been a barber for 45 years. Surviving are his wife, Viola Green Convery; a son, Francis J. of Butler; three daughters, Sister M. Germaine O.S.F. of Millvale; Mrs. John (Ruth) Master and Mrs. James (Viola) Maletta both of Butler; his stepfather, John Kelly of Moosehaven, Fla.; two brothers, Lawrence of Butler R.D. 3 and Paul of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Jules (Adeline) Baptiste of Butler; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral Notice:
Friends of John L. Convery of 332 W. North St., who died Friday, Aug. 6, 1965, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Herman. Arrangements by Geibel. Members of the Butler Moose Lodge will meet at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to conduct memorial services.

Funeral was held at 11:00 a.m., 9 AUG 1965, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. The service was performed by Father Eloy Grundler.

Burial was in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Summit Township, L. R. 10033 North of Herman, Butler, PA.
