Harold I. Bailey, 59, of Sparta, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on November 10, 1949 in La Crosse to Joseph and Elsie (Schrank) Bailey. He grew up in La Crosse and married the former Susan Sanwald on August 5, 1980. After marriage they lived in Sparta. He worked at Northern Engraving for 15 years. He liked Eagles, Wolves, camping, fishing, and football.

He is survived by his wife, Susan of Sparta; two sons, Patrick Bailey of Sparta, John Bailey of Sparta; six grandchildren; a sister, Katherine Bailey of La Crosse; three brothers, Doug (Connie) Bailey of Onalaska, William (Joanne) Bailey of LaCrescent, MN, and Robert (Betty) Bailey of La Crosse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Donald.

Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Farmers Valley Cemetery, rural Sparta with Reverend David Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Farmers Valley Cemetery.
