Albert F. Brohmer, 87, of Sparta died Friday, April 18, 2008 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse. He was born on January 3, 1921 in the Town of Ridgeville, Monroe County, Wisconsin to August and Mary (Von Ruden) Brohmer. He grew up in the Castle Rock area North of Sparta.

He served in the U.S. Army and then in the National Guard of the United States. Albert married the former Louise Blake on February 23, 1943 in Sparta. After marriage they lived in Sparta. They were later divorced.

Albert was a mail carrier at the Sparta U.S. Post Office for 30 years. He retired in 1980. He was a past member of the Sparta Eagles.

He is survived by a special friend, Jean Steuck of Dresbach, MN; two sons, Albert Charles Brohmer of Stoughton, WI, Jeffery (Teresa) Brohmer of Caledonia, MN; three daughters, Judith (Clark) Hove of San Diego, CA, Bonnie (Gerald) Schroeder of Tomah, Debbie (Stephen) Miller of Manitowoc, WI; grandchildren, Brooke and Todd Brohmer, Jay Hove, Penni Nerison, Michael Schroeder, Bobby John Schroeder, Amanda Miller, Alecia Miller, Jessica, and Corey Brohmer; 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert; a grandson, Scott; a sister, Ceil; two brothers, Tony, Clarence, and an infant brother, Oscar.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta with Father James Leary O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial with full Military Honors provided by V.F.W. Post 2112 will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
