Helen Cooper Tyree, 65, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006. She was born November 12, 1940 in Indianapolis to Edward and Anna (Brady) Cooper. Helen worked for Western Electric for 25 years before retiring. Her real job though, was being a full time mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren became the focal point of her life and she was always interested in their latest activities and what their interests were. Even during her illness she always wanted to know the most recent news of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Tyree and her father, Edward Cooper. She is survived by her mother, Anna Brady Cooper; sons, George "Kevin" (Sandra) Tyree, Shane (Regina) Tyree; daughters, Mary "Chris" (Mac) McDonald, Anna Bundren; sisters, Sandra Cook, Geraldine Carothers, Jean Mahurin, Mary Smyser; brothers, Ed, Bob and Tim Cooper; grandchildren, Christopher, Sam, Amanda, Shaun, Stephanie, Jessica, Nicholas, Alex, and Taylor; great grandchildren, Jalen McDonald, Jordan McDonald, Conner Inman and Kaleb Simpson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Roch Catholic Church. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, where morning prayers will be said on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital.
