San Antonio Express May 9, 1966 Services for Col. William G. Behrens, U.S. Army (ret.), 83, of 3310 Deer Creek Lane, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Mission Burial Park under direction of Porter Loring Mortuary. Col. Behrens died here Saturday. He entered the Army as private in 1918 and served in World War I at Fort Sam Houston and in France with the Motor Transport Repair Unit No. 312. He was discharged as a sergeant, senior grade in 1919 and was recalled to active duty in 1941 and served in World War II. He attended St. Mary's University, Texas A&M College, University of Texas and Colorado State College. He was a member of National Education Society, Texas State Teachers Association, Texas Vocational Association and American Vocational Association. For over 20 years he taught vocational courses in the San Antonio schools. Survivors include his wife, Anne; daughters, Mrs. Walter C. Watts and Mrs. Jack Legel, one granddaughter, all of San Antonio, and three great-grandchildren.
