Charlie Hamburg
Birth: Nov. 22, 1863
Death: May 18, 1931

Major League Baseball Player. Born in Louisville Kentucky, he played mostly minor and semi-pro ball. He finally got to the Major Leagues in 1890 with the hometown Louisville Colonel's of the faltering American Association. The AA was on the verge of collapsing financially as a major league, and was in dire need of players. Being a local boy, he was a perfect fit. He batted a respectable .272 with 3 homers and 77 RBI's in his only major league season. He went back to playing minor and semi-pro ball afterward, eventually settling in Union, New Jersey. (bio by: Find A Grave)
