Miss Evelyn never married. Following her father, Mr. Walt, she was the church secretary at Bethel Methodist Church for many years until declining health caused her to turn over the job to my sister, Kathy Tidwell Madden.
Miss Evelyn was born April 3, 1912, in Coweta County, to J. Walter and Maggie Lou Bell Byrom. She was retired from the Newnan Western Auto Store, where she worked as a secretary.
