My dear old friend, Margie (Wise) Nemec's father, Frederick (Fritz) P. Wise, age 77, of Kentwood, MI passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2006 after a long, courageous battle with emphysema. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Wise. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Veronica A. (Chrusciel); children, Bernard J. (Connie) Wise of LeHigh Acres, FL, Mary E. (Danny) Johnson of Alexander, NC, Robert A. (Dawn) Wise of Byron Center, MI, Margerat A. (Marty) Nemec of East Jordan, MI; six grandchildren, Christine Wise, Homer Black, Rachel and Ryan Wise, Martin and Willson Nemec; two great grandchildren, Sage Wise and Madison Black, as well as several loving step-grandchildren; his brother, Kenneth (Deloris) Wise; sisters, Donna (Wendall) Briggs, Mildred (Erwin) Bylsma; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Josephine Chrusciel, Frank Chrusciel, Tom (Dorothy) Chrusciel, Sister Mary Mariella Chrusciel, CSSF, Sister Irene Chrusciel, OP, Andrew Chrusciel, Sister Cecilia Chrusciel, CSSF; many nieces and nephews. Throughout his life he enjoyed time with his family, especially his outdoor time with his grandchildren hunting and fishing. Mr. Wise served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #208, AMVETS Post #23 and the V.F.W. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday, January 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Wyoming), 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with the Rosary being recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.n. on Monday, January 23 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1213 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, MI with visitation one hour prior to the servive, Fr. Dennis Morrow presiding. Interment at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hilliards, MI will follow that afternoon. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland Home or Guiding Light Mission.
