Mrs. Shoults Dies Wednesday In Torrington (September 30, 1920 - March 19, 1969)
Mrs. Wes Shoults, 48, of Torrington died last Wednesday at the Torrington Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday at the United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Howard Osborne officiating. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.
Velma Ruby Allen was born September 30, 1920, to Louis Allen and Minnie Olive (Tabler) Allen of Torrington. She lived all her life in the Lusk and Jay Em area. She graduated from Torrington High School in 1938.
She was married to "Wes" Shoults June 18, 1939, at Jay Em. She was active in community affairs and attended Sunday School and the Presbyterian Church. The last 13 years of her life she and her husband resided on the ranch where she was born, 32 miles northwest of Torrington.
Survivors include her widower, "Wes" Shoults; two daughters, Mrs. Carole Eutsler, Yankton, S. Dak. and Mrs. Sharon Darnall of Gering; two sons, James of Torrington and Gary of the family home; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Allen, Torrington; one brother, Edward Allen of Torrington; two sisters, Mrs. Evalyn Lang of Lusk and Mrs. Helen Duncan of Seattle, Wash.; and five grandchildren. Her father died previously.
A memorial to the American Cancer Society has been established.
