Charles M. Martinson of Henderson Grove, died Wednesday morning at home. Death was attributed to a malignancy that had kept him ill for the past 3 months.
He was born in Galesburg June 25, 1870. He lived here until the age of 9, when he moved to Henderson Grove, where he lived for the remainder of his life.
He was confirmed in the Henderson Grove Lutheran Church in 1888.
He was a farmer, and the owner of a threshing company. As a hobby, he became an authority as an apiarist with his many hives of bees producing large amounts of honey.
Surviving are 4 brothers, Edwin, Alfred, Albert, and Fred, and one sister, Hulda. He was a confirmed batchelor, and had no children.
Funeral services were held the following Friday at 3 p.m. at the Kimber & West Mortuary. Visitation was thursday evening.
