Robert Lee "Bob" Asher, 59, died March 21, 1999, of cancer at his Lakeview residence.
Mr. Asher was born May 23, 1939 in Marysville, Calif., to Burton and Geraldine (Stalford) Asher.
When he was quite young, he moved with his family to Klamath Falls, where he was raised and educated.
He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1957.
He enlisted in the Oreon National Guard in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1964.
He married Sandra Pemberton in 1959.
Mr. Asher owned and operated a service station and worked for Pacific Linen on a surveying crew before moving to Rogue River in 1979.
While there he was employed as a service rider at Jim Sigel Chevrolet in Grants Pass and was married to his second wife, Louise McLain.
They moved to Lakeview in 1989.
Mr. Asher was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping.
Survivors include his mother, Geraldine Asher of Klamath Falls; sons, Steve Asher of Central Point and Dennis Asher of Lakeview; daughters, Vickie Parker of Klamath Falls and Robin Elliott of John Day; sisters, Barbara Foltz and Helen Rossetto of Klamath Falls, and Marilyn Pemberton of Livermore, Calif.; stepchildren, Tracy McLain of Lakeview, Sue Lee of Castle Rock, Wash., and Jim McLain of Longview, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Randy Asher.
