Funeral services for Irwin A. Sax, age 87, lifelong resident of Stevens County, Minnesota, were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19th at the Federated Church in Morris, Minn.
Mr. Sax died at the Stevens County Memorial Hospital on Nov. 14th from injuries received in an auto accident at rural Villard, Minn.
Officiating at the service was Rev. Jerry Hankins. Mrs. Richard Mahoney was organist and Robert Carlson sang. Pallbearers were six sons, Bradford, Harvard, Clyde, Dale, Donald and Jay Sax. Interment was in Summit Cemetery.
Mr. Sax was born at Rendsville Township, Stevens County on March 10, 1893, the son of Bradford and Georganna (Krump) Sax. He grew up there and was married to Margaret S. Clark on Dec. 16. 1914 in Stevens County. As a young man he began farming with his parents. After their marriage they farmed until 1947 when the couple moved to Morris and operated a store from their home until 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Morris, Minn.; six sons, Bradford of Long Prairie, Harvard of Minneapolis, Clyde of Elbow Lake, Dale of Wheaton, Donald of Minneapolis, Jay of Donnelly; four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Leona) Adams of Minneapolis, Mrs. John (Alice) Hickman Sr. of Morris, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Krueger of Donnybrook, N.D.; Mrs. Wesley (Gayle) Hoffman of Norcross, Mn.; 44 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
