Birth: Oct. 16, 1833, Canada
Death: Dec. 17, 1915
Brandon
Fond du Lac County
Wisconsin, USA

Robert Jenkinson, aged 82, a pioneer resident of Fond du Lac county, passed away at his home in Brandon at an early hour this morning. Death was caused by general debility and an attack of grippe. Mr. Jenkinson has been an invalid for the past seventeen years, being affected with paralysis.
He was a well known resident in the county and was actively identified with politics for many years. He was born in Montreal, Canada, October 16, 1833, and came to the United States in 1842 with his parents and took up a homestead in Michigan. On July 4, 1845, with his parents he came to Wisconsin, locating in this county, where he lived ever since. He acted as undersheriff during his father's term of office as sheriff in 1852 and following that time held several public offices in the town of Metomen and village of Brandon. He was elected to practically every office at the disposal of the voters of his township.
The surviving relatives are a widow and two daughters, Mrs. Ida Yorty and Miss Nettie Jenkinson, both of whom are the owners and publishers of the Brandon Times, a weekly newspaper. Had Mr. Jenkinson lived until December 28, he and Mrs. Jenkinson would have celebrated their fifty ninth wedding anniversary. His wife was formerly Miss Lucy O'Connor of Brandon and the couple was married in 1856. Mr. Jenkinson was a charter member of the Brandon Congregational church.
The funeral will be held from the residence at Brandon at 10:30 o'clock Sunday morning, interment taking place at the Brandon Cemetery. The Rev. H.A. Brooks of the Brandon Congregational church will officiate at the services.
