Actor/Actress : Lady Catiria had a cameo appearence in the movie "Too Wong Foo, thanks for everything, Julie Newmar". Starring Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo. Playing herself, a female impersonator, in the start of the movie, she was the one who said "Tie whatcha mean a tie, and sported the now famous "genie ponytail". In the New York Circuit she was a feature and headline for La Escuelita Night Club in Times Square and known around the world in the gay community as a headline entertainer.

Lady Catiria was never the type to be "not" noticed. If she was "in the house" you would know it. Her personality came so far across the divides and she was such a special and gifted individual.

In addition to winning many beauty pageants across the nation, she is the only "queen" to have embraced the Miss Continental Plus (For Plus sized Models)in 1993, a crown she took home ~ then set her sights on the original Miss Continental, lost weight and become that years Miss Continental, a feat that never repeated again by anyone.

She was crowned Miss Continental in 1995, the most prestigious of all drag queen pageants in America.

During her farewell performance at the 1996 Miss Continental Pageant, Catiria wearing a black rhinestone gown bordered with a large red rhinestone band symbolizing the Aids Ribbon, aroused the crowd with a classic song rendition while a recorded message from herself played softly divulging the over 2,000 crowd that she has been diagnosed with AIDS.

She was a friend, a family member to all, and a sister to her craft. She will be greatly missed. The GLBT Community will forever remember her as a strong and caring person, never will her memory be forgotten.
