Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (O'Flaherty) Dirrane. Kae grew up in South Boston and attended Nazareth College in Louisville Kentucky where she earned her associate's degree and she received her bachelor's degree from Framingham State College.
Kae was a resident of Newton for over 44 years. She volunteered with many organizations throughout the Newton community. She was the founder of the Newton Meals on Wheels program, a past President of the Newton Women's Club, longtime active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and volunteer at the All Newton Music School.
Kae assisted her late husband in writing history books. She also enjoyed reading and writing poetry.
The beloved wife of the late John S. Bowes, she was the loving mother of the late Gerald Bowes. Sister of the late Margaret Harrington, Thomas, John and Leo Dirrane and Eileen Kreisen she is also survived by her four children, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Kae was a talented, kind, generous and amazing woman that is dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
