Beloved and cherished husband of Elizabeth "Betty," devoted and adored Dad of Janice McCrary and Carol Droste, doting and proud GrandDad of Lindsay Droste, David McCrary and Matthew Droste. Loving brother of Delores, Patrick, and Hude. Preceded in death by his mother Marie Veronica Leonard, father Edward William Leonard, Sr. and son-in-law Bruce John Droste. Ed and Betty were married in Detroit, more than 58 years ago. They made their loving home in Westland, Michigan. Mr. Leonard served proudly and honorably with the U.S. Army 452nd Quartermaster of the 3rd Army during World War II. Through May, 2006 he regularly attended the annual 452nd QM National Reunions. He was a 60 year member of Ironworkers Local 25 in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Leonard passed away in Cape Coral, Florida on Wednesday January 3, 2007 nine days before his 82nd birthday. His wife, daughters and grandchildren were at his bedside. Burial will be at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia Michigan in the early Spring. The family will host a "Celebration of Life" memorial in the Spring. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to: "Hope Hospice" 9470 Healthpark Circle Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
