My beautiful, little girl, CamSue, crossed the rainbow bridge this morning.

Cami came to us thru an animal rescue. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in Zanesville, Ohio, and put on an animal transport to Maryland. I went to Frederick, at 12 noon, August 30, 2009 to meet the transport.

I saw Cami laying in the back of the transport vehicle. She would not pick up her head to look at me. She was trembling and scared. On the ride home, I placed my hand on Cami and talked to her. She did not respond to me as she was scared.

Cami had health issues that needed to be addressed. She had kennel cough, skin and ear infections, rotten teeth, sores on her paws, and she was underweight. After a couple weeks of love and care, Cami started to blossom.

She was the greatest dog - sweet, loving, appreciative, polite, smart, and a real companion. Cami loved living inside a house and having a comfortable bed. She knew she had "her place" in the world. The "forever home" she never had and that all dogs deserve. She never went hungry again and never again slept outside. She was always inside out of the cold and heat. Cami had a strong sense of love and appreciation for her family, whom with she was safe.

Cami had almost five years in our home. She is missed terribly. We cherish every memory. As anyone, who has ever loved a pet, knows there is a place in your heart reserved for only that pet. "Cami, there's a place in mommy's heart where only you can go. That's now and forever."
