Services for William Earl Perkins, 50, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Jay Beyer officiating.
Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors of Lubbock.
He died Wednesday, April 24, 2002.
He was born Feb. 25, 1952, in Riverton, Wyo., and had been a resident of Lubbock since 1953. He was a 1970 graduate of Lubbock High School and earned a bachelor's degree in music from Texas Tech.
He played the double bass for the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra for 32 years and played with the Roswell, Midland-Odessa and Amarillo symphonies. He worked for Aztec Screen Printing, a family business.
Survivors include his parents, Jesse and Pauline of Lubbock; and three sisters, Wilma Ruggles and Patty Perkins Wijaya, both of Lubbock, and Karen Perkins of Roselle, N.J.
The family suggests memorials to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Lubbock Youth Symphony Orchestra.
