William Leondas "Bill/Shorty" Myers, Jr., 67 years of age, of Richmond, Indiana, peacefully went home to be with his Lord in his sleep at his residence on Sunday morning, January 3rd, 2010.

Bill was born in Randolph County, Indiana on June 9th, 1942, son of Ruth Helen Bragg Myers and the late William Leondas Myers Sr. He lived in the Richmond/Fountain City area most of his life. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Fountain City High School. He worked for Wallace Heating for 19 years, for Acme Pattern and retired from Sears as a service technician. After retirement he worked for Conniff's part time. Bill loved to read and watch television. He was very active in the Monday Night Bible Study at the First English Lutheran Church where he attended.

Bill was survived by his wife, Patricia A. "Pat" Myers, whom he married on November 9th, 1985; one son, Duane (and Rhonda) Myers; two daughters, Vickie (and Joseph) Stone and Brenda (and Tony) Bennett; one step-son, Tony (and Karin) Bailey; his mother, Ruth Helen Bragg Myers; one brother, John (and Jean) Myers; two sisters, Carolyn Anna "Beth" Jones and Kathryn "Jane" (and Norman) Snell; eleven grandchildren, Andrew Myers, Christopher (and Stephanie) Myers, Jason (and Danielle) Collier, Matthew (and Holly) Collier, Taylor Bennett, Travis Bennett, Brian Stout, Steven Stout, Jennifer (and Tim) Girdler, Adam (and Alicia) Stone, and Ashley Stone; three great-grandchildren, Adyia Collier, Cordie Collier, and Madisyn Coffman; several nieces and nephews; and a host of Church family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Leondas Myers Sr., who departed this life on March 13th, 1992; his paternal grandparents, Harmon Myers and Elva Taylor Myers; his maternal grandparents, Bert Bragg and Bessie Bragg.

Visitations were held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7th, 2010, at the Doan & Mills Funeral Home in Richmond, Indiana.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Doan & Mills Funeral Home with his brother, Pastor John Myers and Pastor Brian Derrer officiating.

Burial followed in the Lutherania Cemetery in Richmond Indiana.
