Born Feb. 6, 1915 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Buckman-Dare.
Mr. Bendell was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 and was awarded a Bronze Star for heroism on the battlefield.
He worked for Rohm & Haas as a chemist and retired in 1977 after 35 years of service.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Virginia Holloway and son-in-law, Robert Holloway; two grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Holloway and their wives, Megan and Katie; and one great-grandson, Benjamin, all of Salisbury, Md. He also had a devoted caregiver, Coa Coa, during his final year. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Knox Bendell and his second wife, Myrtle M. Bendell.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in Wrightstown Friends Cemetery, Durham Road, Wrightstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, 7405 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19055.
