"Sonny"

On the morning of April 17, 2008 Stephen C. Barats of Fairless Hills, Pa., passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family, following a brief illness.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa. on September 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Stephen and Agnes Barats.

He was a retired Teamster truck driver. He loved Nascar, Fords, fishing, deer hunting and playing guitar. He also enjoyed hanging out in his garage listening to "Road House" on the satellite radio. Mr. Barats was a former country western singer with his band "Steve Barats and the Road Rangers".

Mr. Barats is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dolores (nee Norkunas); he is also survived by his three children, Michele Barats (Scott Moore) of Canton, Pa., Stephen (Bonnie) Barats also of Canton, Pa., Wynk (Donnie) Payne of Bellevue, Nebr.; and his Jewish friend Miriam (Shane) Gaghan of Philadelphia, Pa; six grandchildren Karl (aka Bud), Lacy (Jason), Amanda (Adam), Stephen, Meghan (Joel) and Trey; three great grandchildren Kylia, Yelena, and Audrey; and a very special nephew Kenny. He will also be missed by his three step-children and their families. Also survived by his sisters, Agnes Mary Jayne and Eleanor, brothers Danny, Mike and Kenny.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Bart, Delbert, John and Lefty (George); and the mother of his children Irene (Dawicki) Woods.

Services were held in Levittown, Pa., on Monday April 21, 2008.
