Joseph Jacob Hidy 1834 - 1913
Mr.Joseph Hidy was born in Fayette County, Ohio September 8th, 1834 and died at the Stratton Hospital October 6th 1913 , being 79 years, 28 days old at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Eliza Karnes in the year 1856. To this union five children were born of which only two are living. Wm J. Hidy of Trenton, Nebraska, and Mrs Mary Watkins of Mutule, Oklahoma. The deceased leaves one brother, two children, eleven grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
Mr. Hidy was a member of the Christian church and led a true christian life and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
His remains were taken to Red Cloud Wednesday and buried beside his wife.
