Services for Henry Edward "Eddie" Wilks, Jr., 27, Lawrence, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the
Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Wilks died Saturday, May 22, 1999, in a car-pedestrian accident. He was born Jan. 30, 1972, in Lawrence, the son of Henry and Margie Allen Wilks. He returned to Lawrence in 1988 from Camp Pendleton, Calif. He owned and operated Above and Beyond Roofing in Lawrence. He married Jennifer Reser on April 20,1994, in
Lawrence. They later divorced. Survivors include, his fiancee, Amy Baughman, Lawrence, his parents, Lawrence, a daughter, Summer Wilks, Lawrence; a son, Harley, Lawrence; four sisters, Brenda Hughes, Reston, Va., Pamela Whitcomb, Moran, Leslie Nott, Independence, Kan., and Melissa Wilks, Humboldt; a paternal grandfather, Chester Wilks, Lawrence, and a maternal grandmother, Grace Allen, Lawrence. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family suggests memorials to Greenpeace International, and they may be sent in care of the mortuary.
