News reached here from Lincoln Sunday evening that Jim Campbell was dead. Only in our last issue we mentioned his convalescence and his friends had hoped to see him home again in a short time. Deceased leaves a wife, one son and two daughters. J.M. Campbell came to Nebraska in 1871 and resided in the states ever since that time. He was a veteran of the Civil War and served in Co. D, 39th Iowa infantry (sic).
