Jacob T.(Titus) Henckle/Henkle, Jr. was the 10th child and son of Jacob Henkel (b.1733, PA, d.1779, Hampshire Co. VA, now WV)& Mary Barbara Teter.
He was married before 1799 in VA to Elizabeth Forsee, who is also buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. They went to Clark Co., Ohio in 1817. They were the parents of seven children: David W. Henkle, John F. Hinkle, Rueben Henkle, Delilah Henkle, Nancy Henkle, Seth Henkle, and Asa S. Henkle.
Asa S. Henkle, their youngest child, married in Clark Co., OH on Oct. 7, 1835 by the Rev. Saul Henkle to Sarah "Sally" Plummer, who died before 1839 in Clark Co., OH. They had one child: Jacob Titus Henkle. Asa S. Henkle married secondly in Clark Co., OH on May 3, 1839 to Anna Micheals and they had eleven children: Sarah Adeline, James M., Henry C. (Civil War), Lucinda, Rebecca, John Franklin, Merritt C., Arabella, Ellen, Clarinda, & Ulyssess Grant Henkle. Asa Henkle with his second wife Anna and children from both wives migrated from Clark Co., OH to IL and in 1856 migrated to Benton Co., IA, where Asa & Anna are buried in the Maplewood Cemetery, Vinton, Benton Co., IA.
