WILLIAM CRAFT TAKEN BY DEATH, FORMER AURORA CREAMERY MANAGER DIES ON COAST

William Craft for many years manager of the Farmers Union Creamery in Aurora died unexpectedly Friday at his home in Bremerton, Wash., where he was employed at the Puget Sound Naval Yard. He was 43 years old. The body will be brought to Grand Island for burial.

Mr. Craft was born in Hastings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Craft. His first employment was with the Blue Valley Creamery Company in that city.

He was married in Grand Island to Miss Molly Willman and they moved first to Creston, Ia. and 1928 to Aurora, where they lived until 1943, when the family moved to Bremerton. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Richard Craft with the Army Air Forces in Japan and Billy Craft Jr., at home; his father Ben Craft, Hastings; four brothers Lawrence Craft, Grand Island; Archie and Bennie Craft Jr., Hastings; and Melvin Craft, Venice, Cal; and two sisters Mrs. John Ernesti, Grand Island and Mrs. Ethel Anderson, Greeley, Weld, Col. His mother preceded him in death.

WILLIAM CRAFT FUNERAL FRIDAY,
FORMER EMPLOYEE OF AURORA CREAMERY DIES AT BREMERTON, WASH

Funeral services for William J. Craft, son of Ben Craft of Hastings and a former employee of the Farmers Union Creamery at Aurora, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Porter, pastor of the United Brethren Church at Aurora. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cem.

Mr. Craft died last Friday morning at Bremerton, Wash. Death was attributed to a heart ailment. He was born at Hastings on Apr 8, 1903. After attending school at Hastings he began work for the Blue Valley Creamery, later worked for the Armour Company at Creston, Ia., and on March 6, 1928 went to work for Farmers union Creamery in Aurora. In February 1943 he went to the Puget Sound Navy Yard at Bremerton where he was employed at this death.

He was married to Miss Molly Willman of Grand Island on Apr 20, 1925 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, IA. Two sons was born to them Richard now serving with the Army Air Force in Japan and William Hy. at home.

Surviving in addition to his wife and two sons are his father, who resides at Hastings; four brothers, Lawrence Craft, Grand Island; Melvin Craft, Venice, Cal; and Bernie and Archie Craft Hastings; two sisters Mrs. John Ernesti, Grand Island and Mrs. George Anderson, Greeley, Weld, Colo. His mother died in 1926.

The body accompanied by the immediate family arrived in Grand Island last evening. Friends may call this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock at the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.

WILLIAM CRAFT RITES YESTERDAY

Funeral Services for William Craft were conducted yesterday afternoon in the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral home by the Rev. Paul Porter, pastor of the United Brethern Church at Aurora. Miss Pauleen Meyer sang two hymns 'Sometime We'll Understand' and 'Beautiful Isle Somewhere', Mrs. Charles Perry played the accompaniment and the organ prelude and recessional. Burial was in Grand Island Cem.

Pallbearers were Stacey Barker, Emil Kluck, Ralph Bremer, John Sullivan, Emerson Gamble and William J. Bartunck.

Present from out of the city were Ben Craft Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Craft, Archie Craft, Mrs. Carl Craft, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Craft and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Craft from Hastings. Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Willman of Greeley, Weld, Colo, George Willman of Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, IA. and Mrs. Conrad Willman of Lincoln.

Mr. Craft was a native of Hastings and the former manager of the Farmers Union Co-operative Creamery of Aurora, died suddenly last Friday morning in a Bremerton, Wash., hospital. He had been employed the last two years in the Puget Sound Naval Yard.

His wife the former Molly Willman and his son Billy accompanied the body to Grand Island. A second son Richard, serving with Army Air Force in Japan was unable to attend.
