Sr. Seraphia was born March 12th, 1878 to Peter and Anna (Steffen) Fellenz. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes, May 1st, 1894, made her first temporary August 15th, 1894, her second proffesion July 15h, 1900, and made her perpetual vows August 15th, 1907.
Here is a copy of her actual vows " I, Sister Mary Seraphia, vow and promise, before His Excellency, the Lord Archbishop and in the hands of my mother superior, for the rest of my life, to observe chastity, obedience, and poverty in the Congregation of Sr. Agnes. Amen"
Sr. Seraphia worked in the St. Anges Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin for over 40 years, 20 of those years serving as the cheif adminstrator. She also organized the Saint Thomas Hospital in Colby, Kansas. a quote from her biography reads "In her presence one felt that the smile which came so readily to her lips emanated from a soul filled with the beauty of her heavenly Bridegroom" Sr. Seraphia left this world for the next at 11 a.m., September 20th, 1946. She was 69 and had spend 50 years in the convent.
