Served in Co. I, 99th Pennsylvania Infantry. Age 49 when he enlisted on 1/12/1862. He was mustered in on the same day. He took sick with pneumonia on 1/23/1862 and was sent to Lincoln Hospital and died there. Older than most who enlisted, he saw his duty and did not falter.
