Mrs. Lila Duey of Washington, D.C., Buried at Chester

The body of Mrs. Lila Duey of Washington, D.C. (but formerly of Chester) was brought home and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church (sic). Burial was in the Chester cemtery (sic) beside her husband, Dave Duey. Mrs. Duey was a sister of Ellis Waring.

A number of relatives and friends came from a distance to attend funeral services for Mrs. Delilah Duey last Monday. There were seven out of her eight children here. Present were Dr. and Mrs. Fern Schneider, Mrs. Helen Neville, Guy Duey, all of Silver Spring, Md.; Glenn Duey of Baltimore, Md.; Dr. Harold Duey of King City, Calif.; Paul Duey of Washington, D.C.; Carl Duey and wife of Berkeley, Calif.; one grandson, Donald Schneider, of Silver Spring, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Luttermoser, of Caracas, Venzucala (sic), South America was unable to be present.

Delilah Waring Duey

The daughter of the late David Lambert Waring and Martha A. Dick was born April 24, 1875 at Chandlerville, Ill., and died at Silver Spring, Md., April 2, 1942. She attained the age of 66 years, 11 months and 9 days.

Early in life she accepted the Lord and in 1893 she joined the Methodist church. Through all the years she remained a faithful member. At the time of her death she was a member of the Foundry Methodist of Washington, D.C.

On February 14, 1900, she was united in marriage with David Clarence Duey. Their union was blessed with eight children who now grieve over the loss of a dear Christian mother. She leaves to mourn her departure her children, Fern D. Schneider of Silver Spring, Md., Glenn W. Duey of Baltimore, Md., Harold A. Duey of King City, Cal., Helen D. Neville of Silver Spring, Paul C. Duey of Washington, D.C., and F. Pauline Luttermoser of Caracas, Venezuela; two brothers and one sister, Harry D. Waring of South Haven, Kan., G. Ellis Warring of Chester and Edith A. Helms of Cody, Wyo.; eight grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. Her husband, David preceded her in death in the spring of 1918.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 o'clock in the Chester Methodist church (sic) with interment in the Chester cemetery (sic).
