Sanfordville —Claude C. Brown, 64, a native of Stockholm, died in Schenectady February 11, 1953 after an illness of three weeks. Funeral services were held on February 13 at the Light Funeral Home in Schenectady. He was born in Stockholm in 1888, a son of Alonzo and Addie Aldrich Brown. He lived in Potsdam and Stockholm until seven years ago, at which time he sold his farm and moved to Schenectady. He was employed in a bakery there. He had been in poor health for the past year.
His wife was the former Clara Wade. A daughter, Mrs. Helen Allen and two grandchildren, Julia and Asher Allen live in Brushton. Other survivors are one brother Hollis A. Brown, Worthington, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Hunter, Potsdam; Mrs. Nina Rossley, Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Alma Pike of Winthrop. Also eight nephews, Henry Buckland, Philadelphia, Pa; Ralph Buckland, Scotia; Gerald and James Rossley, Philadelphia, Pa.; Robert and Lloyd Best, Winthrop; Gerald Brown, Worthington, Ohio and William Hunter, Phoenix, Arizona. Also four nieces, Mrs. Rachel Beckerchoff, and Mrs. June Evers of Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. Robert McKenna, Potsdam and Mrs. Dorothy Grandaw of Massena.
Burial was in Parkview cemetery in Schenectady, NY
