Virginia taught in Pomona Unified School District as a business education teacher for 19 years. She was a graduate of UC Berkeley and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Chi Omega, Pi Lambda Theta, the Chaffey District Panhellenic Society, and the San Bernardino Business and Professional Women's Club.
She taught at San Bernardino Valley College for seven years. In 1945, she was appointed dean of women at Pomona Junior College and later taught at Pomona High School, retiring in 1963. She was elected president of the Associated Pomona Teachers and also served as clerk of the Pilgrim Congregational Church.
