MRS. LULU MAYFIELD
Mrs. Lulu Mayfield, wife of Jesse Mayfield, Lower Highland, died suddenl from heart trouble Tuesday afternoon, and the funeral was held Wednesday at noon from the late residence, with interment in the family lot at Clarkes. Rev. E. A. Smith of Lents officiated.
After Mrs. Mayfield was stricken she was able to call by telephone to her neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Taylor and Zura Robeson. Although these answered the call at once, Mrs. Mayfield was dead when they arrived. Mrs. Mayfield had suffered from heart trouble for some years.
Deceased was born in Beavercreek, November 13, 1885. She went to Drain, Ore. where she married Mr. Mayfield, and lived in southern Oregon for some years. She has been active member at Clarkes Grange. There are surviving her husband, Jesse Mayfield of Lower Highland; her daughters and sons, Mrs. Dorothy Potter, Mrs. Thelma Mudget, of Portland, Glen Mayfield of The Dalles; Avon and Willard, Lower Logan; her brothers, William Taylor of Cottage Grove; Newton Taylor of Bend; her sisters, Mrs. Ray Maber of Menlo Park, Calif.; Mrs. Silva Sanders of Hardenbrook of Los Angeles, Rachel Hardenbrook, Palo Alto, Calif.; a granddaughter, Nada Mayfield, The Dalles. Her parents died a number of years ago, Mrs. W. G. Mayfield of Gladstone is an aunt.
