Derrell passed away peacefully in his sleep at Christus St. Joseph Villa on Easter Morning at the age of eighty-six.

Born June 4, 1924 to Rulon and Beatrice Dansie. Married Carlyn Coates and Ruth Nestripke (both deceased). Active member of the LDS Church.

Served in World War II in the Navy.

Retired from the UT. St. Board of Education. Lived life to the fullest, enjoying every minute. Even through the pain and suffering he endured, he kept the faith with a smile on his face. Loved photography and camping.

Derrell is survived by two daughters Lynnae Hansen (TX); Lorraine Houskeeper and two sons Grant P. (Brenda), Salt Lake City; Dale J. (Pam), Riverton. Derrell leaves a legacy of sixteen grand and several great-grand children. Also preceded in death by oldest son Bruce.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Joseph Villa, 451 Bishop Federal Lane (500 East 1900 South, Salt Lake City, UT) on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services.
Interment at the Riverton City Cemetery.
