Having one sister and three brothers, he moved to the United States in his early 20's with his three brothers, Allessandro, Carlotta and Caudencio; leaving his sister Mario in Italy. With his brother Alessandro as his partner, he ran a restaurant in San Diego and Tijuana , Mexico at the same time. His restaurant business spanned from Tijuana to Sacramento to San Diego and on to Hollywood . He owned and operated Caesar Cardini, Inc and the now Hotel Caesar's in Hollywood . In 1948 "Caesar salad", which was created by Caesar, was trademarked and introduced to his restaurants. As of today, there are more than a dozen varieties of the original recipe. "Caesar salad" became well known throughout the United Sates and in Europe in the 1990's. After his death, his daughter Rosa took over the business Caesar Cardini, Inc. (bio by: Babe)
