Moses Taylor Long was the son of
Pleasant Miller Long and Elizabeth
'Long' Long. He was the grandson of
Moses Long and Rhoda 'Atchley' Long.
Also George Long 11 and Nancy 'Allen'
Long. His parents were first cousins.

He married Tennie 'Dodson' in 1876,
on December 6.
The couple had 3 children;
Joseph Washington
Annie
John Pleasant

Moses was a carpenter by trade and also did
some farming. He was a member of the Salem
Baptist Church near Riceville, Tennessee.
Moses was married to Tennie 'Dodson'
daughter of Washington and Elizabeth Dodson.

The family emigrated near Gainesville, Texas
for a period of time, however, they later
moved back to McMinn Co., Tennessee. Here
he settled and lived until his death.

Tennie went back to Cooke County, Texas,
around the Gainsville area and more than
likely lived w/their daughter and family,
or their son, John Pleasant. On Tennie's
death certificate, it list John Pleasant
as the informant.
She is buried in Texas.

His son Joseph Washington Long left home at
an early age and wasn't heard from again.
His daughter Annie lived and died near
Gainesville, Texas. Also, his son, John
Pleasant lived in Texas.
