Doug was my younger brother by 5 years. He was born and raised in Austin Texas. Doug graduated From McCallum high school in 1984.He worked in the irrigation and landscaping business for many years. He was married to Susan(Kane) Leftridge, with one daughter, Kylee Leftridge and four step daughters, Kara, Jessica, Megan, and Morgan. They all survive. Parents, Jean Leftridge, of Barnett, Missouri, and Burl Leftridge, of Austin Texas also survive. Grandmother, Dorothy Howard and Sister, Linda Reese of Brookfield, Mo also survive, along with numerous niece's, nephews, and cousins. Doug died unexpectedly at work of heart failure. We had talked about this very thing, that we would both probably die in our tracks at work. This proved true for my brother. He was 46 years old.

Doug didnt drink or smoke or use drugs. That was my job. He wasnt overweight. He had a irregular heartbeat and was under alot of stress at the time of his death. The autopsy said the cause of death was hypertensive type heart disease, but, according to his wife, he did not have high blood pressure. Doug was a cancer survivor, having beaten Thyroid cancer about 10 years ago. I never in a million years thought he would die before me. Never.

When I'm Gone When I come to the end of my journey And I travel my last weary mile, Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned And remember only the smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken; Remember some good I have done, Forget that I ever had a heartache And remember I've had loads of fun. Forget that I have stumbled and blundered And sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought Some hard battles and won. Then forget to grieve for my going as I would not have you sad for a day, But in summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lay. And come in the evening When the sun paints the sky in the west, Stand for a few moments beside me And remember only my best.

It makes me sad that the headstone dosent say "Brother" It also bothers me that it dosent have the days and months on it.
