Bill McCoy, age 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Menorah Medical Center. Bill was born the son of Ova L. and Geneva “Jennie” (Blair) McCoy on October 24, 1926, in Chula, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Barbara June Ewing on October 15, 1949, at St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri, she survives of the home.

Bill served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a Control Tower Operator. He was extremely active in the local Alcoholics Anonymous as a leader and a sponsor he also conducted a women’s prison ministry for AA at Chillicothe Correctional Center. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus Council 1084, he was a Boy Scouts leader at St. Columban’s for fifteen years and did volunteer maintenance at St. Columban’s Church and Bishop Hogan School.

Survivors also include: Four sons, Gary N. McCoy and wife Pam of Chillicothe, Missouri, Dennis McCoy and wife Jayne of Cameron, Missouri, Patrick McCoy and wife Paula of Chillicothe, Missouri, and David McCoy of Sarasota, Florida; one daughter, Jena Marise Pyrtle and husband Mike of St. Joseph, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Browny Blair McCoy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 30, 2015, at 10:30 am at St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. A Parish Rosary will be Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, a family visitation will follow. Friends may call on Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 pm at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be held at St. Columban’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bishop Hogan Memorial School or St. Columban’s Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
