"William Ingalls, an old resident of Sioux Falls and for a number of years sexton of the Mt. Pleasant cemetery, is reported in a serious condition. Mr. Ingalls has been ill for several months."

LATE LOCAL NEWS
"William J. Ingalls for a number of years sexton of the Mt. Pleasant cemetery, and one of the oldest settlers in Minnehaha county, died at his home near the cemetery this morning, after a lingering illness. Mr. Ingalls was taken several months ago and in spite of the efforts of the local physician grew gradually worse. A few weeks ago he was induced to visit the Rochester Minn. hospital where after a thorough examination he was told to return home as he was beyond earthly aid. The trouble from which Mr. Ingalls died was a cancerous growth of the stomach. The funeral will take place from the family residence Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Mr. Ingalls was a member of Jasper lodge No. 21 A. O. U. W."

The funeral was attended by a large number of friends of the family. A delegation from both the Workmen and the Degree of Honor also attended. The remains were interred in Mt. Pleasant cemetery."
