O' Lord, Truly I am Thy Servant;
I am thy servant, and the son of thine
handmaid thou hast loosed my bonds

BIOGRAPHY

Hermie Jackson Dwight, was the second of ten children born to Julia Rodgers Jackson in Kathleen Georgia. She was educated in Houston County.

Early in her life, Hermie recognized her soul mate when she met the love of her life, Frank Dwight. They were happily married, just months short of sixty years. To this union, they were the proud parents of six children, three boys and three girls, four of whom preceded her in death.

In 1934, the family moved from Georgia further south, eventually to settle in Miami where they would raise their family. Hermie's early years were the joys of parenting. She loved her family deeply and actively participated in all of their lives. She enjoyed company and talking with friends. Her perfect recall of "days gone by" were both entertaining and enlightning.

Hermie was one of the original followers for many years before joining Little Rock Primitive Baptist Church; under the leadership of Elder Richard Austin, where she was a faithful and dedicated member until her passing. Her church family was here extended family-daily communication, phone calls and visit were a valued part of her life.

Hermie was blessed in life and death. Her short illness was never without consciousness and often words of prayer were uttered. She answered the call of the Almighty God early Wednesday morning, August 28, 2002 at Aventura Hospital. No questions, no complaints. They will has been done.

Services were held on September 07, 2002 at Little Rock Primitive Baptist Church.

I AM FREE
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I followed the path God has laid for me;
I took His hand when I heard His call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not see another day
But I found peace on my way.
