The community was deeply saddened Tuesday when Mrs. Augusta Lambertson Passed away at the Sabetha Hospital following a stroke she suffered last Thursday.

Early in the fall she broke her hip and never completely recovered although she did become able to go to her home in Hiawatha. She made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Cobun, who gave her loving care.

Mrs. Lambertson was a resident of Fairview for many years, was a kind and loving woman who added greatly to any community she made her home in. She was a friend to old and young alike, will be sadly missed.

Augusta Ernestine Weinhold was born February 1, 1857, at New Braunfels, Texas, and died at Sabetha, Kansas, December 4, 1945. Her girlhood was spent in and near San Antonio, Texas. She was married in May, 1885, to C.M. Roquette and to this union was born a daughter. On February 23, 1895, she was married to W.F. Lambertson and came to Fairview to make her home. A daughter, Ruth, was born of this marriage. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Lewis of Ellsworth, Kansas, and Mrs. Leonard Cobun of Hiawatha, Kansas; three sisters, Miss Virginia Weinhold, Aurora, Illinois, Mrs. Henry Rheiner and Mrs. Elizabeth Vink of San Antonio; and one brother Ernest Weinhold, also of San Antonio; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Florence Beaulieau of Santa Monica, California; a stepson, W.P. Lambertson of Fairview, Kansas; two grandaughters, one grandson, and two great-grandsons.

As long as her health permitted, Mrs. Lambertson was an active member of the Baptist Church. During the last few years, she deeply regretted that she was unable to attend the church services, but she was staunch in her support and loyalty. Her kind spirit was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Zeidler of the Methodist Church of Sabetha in charge of the service. Mrs. Sam Okeson, accompanied by Mrs. Ivan Sawyer at the piano, sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "Will There Be Any Stars In My Crown". The floral offering was lovely and abundant. Body bearers were Merlyn Osborn, Dr. A.J. Lewis of Ellsworth, Kansas, Leonard Cobun, Richard Shaw, Bob Reynolds, Alonzo Lambertson. Those from away here for the funeral were Dr. and Mrs. A.J. Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Osborn.
