Deputy Dustin Duncan, Monday, February 4, 2008, was killed in an automobile accident at approximately 6:00 A.M. while driving on U.S. Highway 270, near Wister.
His patrol car collided with an oncoming pickup truck, killing Deputy Duncan
Dustin Shawn Duncan, 28, of Cameron, passed away Feb. 4, 2008, in Wister. He was born Feb. 27, 1979 in Poteau.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a CLEET certified instructor and certified as an expert marksman. He was previously employed by the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department and the Wister Police Department.
He is survived by his parents, Randy and Ruth Duncan of Cameron; a sister and brother-in-law, Brandi and Chad Barton of Mansfield, Ark.; his fiancÚ and children, Misty Lynn Terry, Colten and Skylynn, all of Poteau; grandparents Robert and Billie Williams of Panama and Harold and Jan Duncan of Poteau; a niece, Maggie Barton; two nephews, Joe and Travis Barton; numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Cameron Civic Center with Rev. Leroy Billy officiating.Interment will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Oehlschlager, Jarrod DeWitt, Jason Nicholos, Mason Brooks, Wendall Hughes, Chad Tolbert and Jason Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Latimer County Sheriff's Department.
