Taken from Choo-Choo's obituary:

Gregory D. Bryant "Choo-Choo" was born September 23, 1969 in Greenwood, Missippi to the parents of Alberta (Bryant) Lowe and Julius Martin.

He attended Paramount High School in Paramount, California graduating June 16, 1988. He was captain of the football team, track and field. Being a part of the Paramount football team, he earned the name Choo-Choo for being a great lead player. Everyone loved Greg. He was a quiet type of person, even though he was outgoing; he stayed to himself. greg had a big appetite. To know Greg is to love him. His love knew no bound. He was this wonderful person that was there to protect you and a great friend to have around. Outside of school he participated in all kinds of sports. His mother kept him involved in baseball and pop warner football. He had broken both ankles, but that still didn't keep him down. He attended Grace Brothern Church and was baptised at New Name Baptist Church by Reverend Harvey L. Tood in Long Beach, California. Greg left home in the summer of 1988 to attend college at Grambling State Universtiy becoming a part of their football team. After being a Grambling for many years he moved to Shreveport Louisiana to start a new life. On June 4, 1998 he was united in marriage to Tameka Mitchell. Greg departed this life on Wednesday March 21, 2001 at LSU Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory: His wife Tameka Bryant of Shreveport, La. His mother Alberta Bryant Lowe and stepfather Ralph Lowe of Moreno Valley, Ca. His father Julius Martin of Mccomb, Miss. One brother Gary Bryant and two sisters Lakisa and Latisha Bryant, two nephews Delleon Mclin and Gary Bryant Jr. and one neice Kayla Bryant all of Moreno Valley, Ca. One granfather Frank Bryant Sr. of Greenwood, Missippi. Eleven uncles; Frank Bryant Jr., Albert Miller, Frankie Henderson, Uncle Muchous, Albert E. Woods, John Woods, Curlus Loggins, Cleophas Carter, Richard Mike, Dennis Wheather, and Mark Price. Ten Aunts; Thelma Miller, Jenny Henderson, Lucy Woods, Rose Loggins, Cellie Carter, Mary Carey, Rosetta Weathers, Odessa White, Sandra Bryant, Dolores Bryant, and two best friends Janice Fuller, Shannique Solaita, and a host of cousins and friends.

My Best Friend "Choo-Choo" from Paramount high school. I remember Choo-Choo would walk me to my locker, carrying my books and be late to class because of it. I had Choo-Choo's letterman jacket after we graduated in 1988. Even while he was at school in Grambling I still had it. When he passed, I took it to get "Choo-Choo" embroidered on the front. My cousin and I took a 23 hour drive from California, through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, to Louisiana to the funeral and then Mississippi for the burial. After the funeral, I presented his mom with his letterman jacket. (Photo: My son wearing the jacket) That was so hard for me to part with since that was something I had of my best friend, but I knew his mom deserved it. I miss Choo-Choo dearly. His memory lives on.

Choo-Choo passed from a blood clot.
