Eldon James Huntsman, 75, of American Fork passed away February 9, 2012 in Provo Utah due to complications following surgery.
He was born to James Donal and Viola Miller Huntsman on March 13, 1936 in Holladay Utah. He is the third of five children. He attended schools in both Lehi and American Fork. He graduated from American Fork high school in 1954.
He attended and played basketball at BYU. He served an LDS mission in southern Australia from 1956 – 1958, where he also played basketball for the Mormon Yankees. He married his eternal companion, Jane Iverson on November 21, 1958 in the Salt Lake temple. He held many positions in the church including Bishop for the Alpine 6th Ward and later a member of the High Council. He also worked as a temple worker at the Mount Timpanogos temple.
He is survived by his wife Jane, their children; J. Ben (Juli) and Paul (Jenny), 10 Grandchildren and 7 Great grandchildren. His sister, Joanne Waters and brother Gordon (Donna) Huntsman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tad Huntsman, sisters; Donna Bigham and Luana Pead.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 25th Ward Chapel,445 East 300 North, with a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Family and Friends may also attend a viewing Monday, February 13th from 6 – 8 p.m., also at the church.
