The son of David William Golden and Louisa Minerva Shoulders Golden. Oney was one of 12 children. He married Martha Jane Pratt on July 30, 1932 in Lewis County, West Virginia. They had four children: Harley, Lester, Martha and Roy. Over the years Oney worked for a roofing company in Baltimore, MD, as a logger in the coal mines of West Virginia and with his sons in a moving business in Virginia. He also had a farm in Linn. Oney loved to get together with his friends and play cards. He was a kind man.
